Welcome to our year 10 blog by Summer B
I am in year 10 and my name is summer. Other pupils in my class are Jamie, Joe, Caitlyn, Navanya, Elizabeth, Tia, Lucy and Khloe. We are studying Inspector calls in English at the moment which is interesting. This lesson is taught by Mr. Davies but we are also taught English Language by MS Douglas. Maths is taught by Miss Coey who is new to the school, but I enjoy her lesson.
Rachel is a teacher who teaches us science and she is enthusiastic which makes us interested in a subject we want to learn about. DT is also another lesson what's taught by Karyn earning us all about renewables. Mr Freeman teaches us Digital and Imedia and one aspect of this is learning about the pitfalls of being online. Citizenship is another lesson in our curriculum. At the moment we attend Adventure Sunderland every Wednesday which I really, like especially the sea. We are decorating the Inside door of our classroom at the moment which should be spectacular.
Adventure Sunderland – Caitlyn
In adventure Sunderland, Year 10 have participated In Bell boating and Beach combing. The day we went Bell boating was particularly exciting because we witnessed a sea rescue, where the coastguards whizzed past us on a speed boat and the air ambulance was hovering right above us. The police and 5 other ambulances were also there helping the rescue.
Beach combing was a little more relaxed. We collected shells and sea glass and rocks to decorate for our LEAP targets. While having a lively discussion about which Disney movie is the best. Navanya hates – hates Frozen! Like hates! Moana was the most popular in our crew.
Fit to Learn - Navanya
I am a pupil in Evolve and every morning we do something called "Fit To Learn".
This involves activities such as a chess group, a music group, a creative group and some pupils walk down to the school field to play football and boules.
I often go down to watch but come back early to do other things.
The reason we do "Fit To Learn" is to get everyone talking and making friends. Sometimes some people come in nervous and shy so "Fit To Learn" helps them make new friends.
