Our Vision, Values and Ethos
"The staff group is small and works well together due to clear, strong routines. This creates a rare consistency and togetherness for the benefit of pupils." Ofsted 2023
Our Vision
At Evolve, we raise aspirations for every student, especially those who may not have thrived in education so far. We believe every young person has potential, and we help them discover it, develop it, and believe in it.
Through meaningful experiences, project-based learning, and real-world opportunities, students build practical skills, confidence, and a sense of purpose. Personal development is at the core of everything we do.
Using therapeutic approaches, outdoor education, and a supportive environment, we equip students with the tools they need to succeed, whether returning to mainstream education, progressing to further education, or moving into apprenticeships.
We are committed not only to academic progress, but to developing resilient, confident individuals ready to thrive in life beyond school.
Our Values
Our vision is brought to life through our commitment to our core values - Communication, Character, Community, and Excellence:
Communication: We create a culture of openness where every student feels heard and understood.
Character: We develop resilience, responsibility, and integrity.
Community: We build a safe, inclusive environment where everyone belongs and contributes.
Excellence: We encourage every student to strive for their personal best and celebrate all progress.
Together, these values ensure that every aspect of our provision; academic, social, and personal, is aligned to helping students realise their potential and achieve meaningful success.
Our Ethos
At Evolve, relationships come first. We know that positive engagement in education begins with trust, safety, and a genuine sense of belonging. Every student is welcomed with unconditional positive regard, high expectations, and a firm belief in their capacity to thrive and succeed.
We understand that behaviour is a form of communication. We respond with curiosity, empathy, and consistency, rather than judgement. Our staff work alongside students, modelling respect, resilience, and responsibility, and creating a culture where mistakes are seen as opportunities for learning and growth.
Our ethos is rooted in a simple belief: when young people feel safe, valued, and understood, they are far more likely to attend, engage, and achieve. Through a balance of compassion and challenge, we create the conditions for students not only to re-engage with education, but to rebuild confidence in themselves and their future.
"Curriculum plans are ambitiously designed to give pupils the knowledge they need for long-term success." Ofsted, 2023.
As part of Consilium Academies, we're committed to the following Equality Objectives:
- Embed a strong data management system across the Trust, supporting each academy to monitor and analyse pupil achievement and progress by ethnicity, gender, and disability, and act on any trends or patterns in this data that identify the need for additional support for pupils with the aim of narrowing the gap for equality groups.
- Implement a Trust-wide HR information system, ensuring that this incorporates the ability to provide robust reporting on and monitoring of equalities data.
- Through the use of peer networks across the Trust, ensure that the PSHE curriculum across the Trust is broad and balanced, and provides students with a high-quality education surrounding equality and diversity.
- Plan systematically to improve our understanding and promotion of diversity, establishing an equality and diversity focus group to drive this aspect of our work and ensure that our equality and diversity practices are sector-leading.
